India has reached the devastating figure of over 300,000 coronavirus deaths, with the pressure on many hospitals showing no sign of abating amid a surging second wave. The real number of fatalities is thought to be far greater, with many not being officially recorded. Oxygen supplies remain critically low across the country, with the black market the only option for some people. Crematoriums continue to work throughout the night to keep up with the number of bodies arriving, and many families are facing long waits before their loved ones can receive funeral rites. Some say they were asked to help speed up the process by piling the wood themselves.
Of the almost 27 million virus cases reported in India, 10 million have occurred just in the past month, overwhelming hospitals and leading to shortages of oxygen and other critical supplies.
Ambulance shortages is also one of the problems in shifting the patients.
High level of demand for medical oxygen and Remdisvar injection throughout India. People are standing in queue for a week to get the Remdisvar to save their loved ones.
The first sixty minutes after a traumatic injury is very critical and is known as the Golden Hour. The likelihood of survival of a patient is highest if treatment starts within the golden hour and this is where Traveller Ambulances comes into play.
This ambulance can also be used after COVID because currently there is no ambulance facility for the muslim community in areas particularly Dindigul and Theni district. Sick patients, pregnant women, diabetic and heart patients from remote rural areas will be able to benefit from this.
The maintenance cost (fuel + driver cost) will be covered by our partner, MSET.
Funds needed: $50,000 (including vehicle and equipments)
